What comes to your mind?

what comes to your mind that day you come across the word "psychology"? What exactly do you think psychology is? Have you ever told someone you want to study psychology and immediately, they asked you to read their Mind or to tell them their next move ?
When you think of the word psychology, what first comes to mind?
Formally defined, psychology is the scientific study of behaviour and mental processes. Let’s consider the three key terms in this definition: science, behaviour, and mental processes.
As a science, psychology uses systematic methods to observe human behavior and draw conclusions. The goals of psychological science are to describe, predict, and explain behaviour. In addition, psychologists are often interested in controlling or modifying behaviour, and they use scientific methods to examine interventions that might help, for example, reduce violence or promote happiness.
Psychology certainly does include the study of therapy and psychological disorders. Clinical psychologists in particular specialize in studying and treating psychological disorders. By definition, though, psychology is a much more general science (Ash & Sturm, 2007).
