What's abortion?
Abortion is the expulsion of a foetus or embryo from the womb before it is fully developed, resulting in the loss of the foetus.
For some time, people have questioned if abortion is actually murder and should be repulsed or an act that should be embraced. We will be considering both sides:
To some, abortion is plainly the killing of a living thing. A foetus exhibits all the major characteristics of a living thing. It moves after it's own fashion, it respirates, feeds, and is irritable, constantly growing, definitely excretes, and it possesses sex cells which are are the main characteristics all living things. Therefore aborting a foetus should simply be seen as murdering a child, a helpless child. This makes abortion a criminal act, a dastardly, malicious, and evil act.
Why engage in unprotected sex when you know you aren't ready to have babies with the numerous and cheap contraceptives all around that you could easily get? Would you be alive reading this if you had been aborted too? So why do the same for another person?
On the other end, some argue that abortion is a choice, a right that should be honored. They believe why bring a child to this world when you know you can't take care of it? Why make an innocent child come to this world to suffer when it can be avoided. Just look around, there are millions of suffering and dying kids around, why bring one more?
In fact, a way we can prevent and manage the alarming, incessantly increasing poverty level is by making abortion accepted legally, worldwide. It will decrease the crime rate, deforestation rate, and poverty level.
What should we then say about those who were impregnated we assume victim of rape? Should they be forced to give birth to a child that brings painful memories? Or should we neglect and leave to the mercy of death those whose life are threatened by pregnancy, those who can't give birth without a high risk to their life?
Should we turn a blind eye knowing it could be your mother or your sister or even your wife, would you still maintain your stance against abortion?
Having seen abortion from the lens of both extremes, what do you think, should it be legalized and accepted or rejected with passion?
