3 important reasons why you need to set goals right now

I could remember vividly last year when the corona virus strongly hit Nigeria and a total lockdown of the country was enforced. There were bitter rants in the air, people screaming of hunger, some lost their jobs because some business enterprises ran into loss, pupils and students stayed home for over 7 months and the list goes on.

The country looked so bad and it seemed like no one was making progress.

Despite the complains here are there of things being bad, some people recorded last year to be one of their best year so far. In this same country, people bought cars, some launched their brands and businesses, others got their M.sc/PhD certificate and other achievements people made.

Now the question is HOW were they able achieve all of these despite the challenge?

The simple answer is this, they simply had GOALS.

A goal is a result one is attempting to achieve. It can also be called purpose, ambition and aspiration. Setting goals is an important part of living life.

In order to break barriers and protocols in life, it is expedient that an individual have goals. Goals are more like what a person is living for.

A person without an ambition or goal doesn't even have a direction to life. He/she is easily tossed to and fro by the raging winds of life and moves whichever direction the wind leads them to.

The importance of having goals cannot be underestimated. Below are 3 importance of setting goals:

1.Goals makes an individual have a direction and a picture of a destination

Goals help you have a purpose to why you're living.

2. Goals keep you motivated

When you have goals, you tend not to go for anything less than what you've pictured.

3. Goals also helps you stay focused and undistracted.

It's quite saddening today that the minds of most young adults has been misguided into the fables that people who had shivering goals and couldn't achieve them now tell.

One of the lies is, " Man proposes but God disposes". While it is true that the place of God in the goals we set is keen, it should be known that God can only dispose a thing if it is present. If there are no goals set, then there is nothing God will be able to dispose. The goal has to be set first.

That God disposes a goal you have  may mean that He is leading you on to something much better. So why not risk having a goal first ?

It is also important to understand that, the act of goal setting is good but the ability to keep on with that goal no matter what happens is best.

It is not enough to have goals, you must also determine in your mind to see through the goals you've written down. Stay focus on your goals and achieve them.

Ditch any habit and limiting thought that is weighing you or might weigh you down from achieving your goals. You are more than any limiting thought.

Peradventure, you didn't have a goal before now, it is not to late to set one and be focused on it.

Remember that you can do anything you set your mind to do.
