Marci
had liked him. When she met Kirk two weeks ago after a party at a fraternity
house, he was attentive, caring, and eager to know all about her. He was
willing to talk about himself and his feelings. They had gone out twice during
the next week, and on their second date, they had spent almost an hour kissing
in his car in front of her campus apartment. Just kissing, that’s all; she was
pleased that he didn’t seem particularly aggressive or interested just in sex
like so many of the other guys she had dated. The next weekend, she invited
Kirk over to her room for pizza and a movie. After dinner, they began kissing
on the bed, and his hands began to wander. Marci stopped him and told him that
she wasn’t ready to be sexual with him. He said he was sorry, but as the
kissing continued, he began to force his hands under her clothing. The more she
protested, the more forceful he became. She told him no and pleaded with him to
stop, but he was bigger and stronger, and with all his weight on top of her,
she just felt powerless. She tried to fight but couldn’t. For some reason, she
didn’t call out for help. He got her panties off and his pants down and pushed
himself into her. When he was done, he told her how great it was and actually
wanted to kiss her. When she told him to get out, he acted hurt, as if nothing
wrong had happened. Could
this be called rape?
Depends on what rape is to an individual. I guess some would argue it isn't, but to me, it is definitely rape.
