Twitter users went agog over comments made by 2 French doctors in a discussion held on Wednesday on French television channel, LCI. The racist comment came up when the location for testing of the new covid 19 trials which involves the potential use of BCG vaccine against covid 19,was being debated.
The comment which has sparked controversy around the world was made by John-paul Mira, head of intensive care unit at Cochin hospital in Paris. He said "It may be provocative. Should we not do this study in Africa where there are no masks, no treatment or intensive care, a little bit like it's been done for certain AIDS studies, where among prostitutes, we try things, because we know that they are highly exposed and don't protect themselves?"
