A New Dawn for the Psychife family: Introducing Our Catalyst Crew

Rumor has it, a fresh breeze is blowing through our departmental corridors. The “catalyst crew,” our new departmental executive team, has been making waves since their introduction session with Psychoscope. From casual encounters to formal gatherings, you’ve undoubtedly heard whispers of their vibrant energy and promising potential. Let’s take a moment to reacquaint ourselves with this dynamic group. Remember those early days when anticipation was high and expectations soared? Well, it’s time to delve deeper into the individuals who are poised to shape the future of our department. In the following sections, we’ll introduce you to each office and its key stakeholders. Discover their unique perspectives, shared vision, and the exciting promises they’ve made to our departmental community. Get ready to be inspired as we embark on this new chapter together.

1.  Starting with Psychife’s custodian of knowledge, the librarian, Adebisi Isreal Tijesunimi from EUNOIA constituency (300L) whose hobbies include reading (obviously), arguing Petersonian psychology with a medley of Christian apologetics, anime, movies and daydreaming. It turns out that our librarian isn’t just good at handling books but might have some culinary skills up his sleeves. When asked about his favorite food he replied, ‘as long as I cooked it, it’s my favorite’. ‘But what is a librarian without a library?’ you may ask. Well, our librarian is not just there for the title and certificate as he's made it clear to us that he has a vision which includes getting the department a physical library.

2.  Next is Psychife’s accounts officer, the treasurer, Olatunji Eunice Dolapo also from EUNOIA constituency (300L). Everyone loves some good food. No wonder when asked about her favorite food, madam treasurer replied ‘I don’t have a favorite food, I love good food’. I mean, who doesn’t?. Her hobbies include reading novels, traveling and exploring different places. When hit with the question of what she would do differently in office, madam treasurer had a lot to say. She plans to bring out ‘psychpreneurs’, create visibility for business owners in Psychife by working on a weekly showcase of business owners in Psychife, educate on money saving tips and apps, work hand-in-hand with executives and others to give Psychife the best and to be proactive. Madam treasurer didn’t come to play.

3.     The next executive to be introduced has proved to us several times that he’s the best at keeping Psychife physically fit. Yup, you guessed right! It’s Solomon Olaleye the Director of sports from TRIBE OF PSYCHS (400L). He not only knows how to help Psychife keep fit but has a very good taste in food, his favorite food being semo and egusi. His hobby is playing games. When asked what he would do differently in office, his reply, ‘Inclusivity/more innovation’. Simple but complex.

4.  ‘All work, no play makes Psychife a boring association’ and who better to make Psychife fun if not EUNOIA’s (300L) superwoman, Aroyehun Ireoluwa, Psychife’s Director of Socials. She definitely has an exquisite taste in food (that only means we should expect ‘exquisite’ foods during social events, right?). Her favorite food is rice and stew with diced ponmo and fish as well as large turkey with cold caprisonne. Detailed. She’s a very picky eater and isn’t into weird food combos. Her hobbies include talking and making money (talk about a girl boss). When asked what she would do differently in office, she replied ‘I will collect charm from baba and make sure you all attend all the events planned.' Talk about a DOSocials with humor.

5.     Publicizing of events and information, how would that be possible without the mouthpiece and ears of this association? Ajayi Princess Omobolanle EUNOIA constituency (300L) was made for the office of the Public Relations Officer as she’s been doing a commendable job since her election into office. Her hobbies include surfing the internet, singing and talking. Talk about the mouthpiece and ears of the association. Her favorite food is spaghetti. When asked what she’d do differently in office, she replied ‘I plan to work hand-in-hand with other executive officers and Psychoscope to help boost the media’.

6.  What’s the association’s executive council meetings and congresses without the Assistant General Secretary? Obada Esther Damilola AKA Damsel from JUNGIAN OMADA constituency (200L) has proven that she didn’t come to play as when asked what she’ll do differently in office, she replied that her first order of business would be to create standardized attendance sheets for congresses which would make attendance records easily accessible. We look forward to seeing that put in place. Her hobbies are cooking and listening to music but she has no favorite food as she doesn’t really eat. The irony.

7.   What’s the assistant general secretary without the General Secretary? Josiah Omokanyani Favour from EUNOIA constituency (300L) has proven that she’s the best candidate for the office as she served the association exceptionally as an assistant general secretary this previous academic year. Her hobbies are writing and reading. It’s no wonder she’s the General secretary. She has also proven to have an exquisite taste in food as her favorite food is fried rice and chicken with chocolate flavored ice cream. That woman has good taste. She plans to join hands, fully fledged, with her team (AGS) and the executive body to bring sustainable growth and hit all attainable goals in the association.

8.  The wellbeing of the entirety of Psychife is in the capable hands of it’s Vice President Welfare, Adekunle Precious Joy Adetoun from TRIBE OF PSYCHS (400L). Her hobbies include crafting, styling and singing. When asked about her favorite food, her reply was, ‘As long as it is rice, could be jollof, fried, ofada, white, coconut rice etc and of course with ‘orishirishi”. Her words, not mine. She plans to implement comprehensive welfare programs that address the physical, mental and societal wellbeing of Psychife members.

9.   The academic fate of the association lies in the hands of the chairman of the academic committee, the Vice President Academics in person of Badmus Aminat Foluwalope from TRIBE OF PSYCHS (400L). She loves reading good books, watching movies, listening to edifying songs and fellowshipping with her adelphos. Her favorite food is rice and beans with plantain and sauce that has crayfish and ponmo in it. The specifics. She plans to build on the erstwhile VP academics’ work and ensure early planning and implementation of those plans with zero laxity.

10.What is a nation without its ruler? The last executive to be introduced is Psychife’s leading lady, the President, Fasan Olumide Rachael from TRIBE OF PSYCHS (400L). Her hobbies are writing fiction, baking, reading novels, playing detective and watching drama.  Her favorite food is yam and egg/rice and beans. She plans to put the spotlight on the department of psychology both in OAU and outside it. She’s a leader with a vision!
